The riches of the kingdom
Text: Matthew 13:44 (KJV)
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.”

Points to consider:
- The Decision to Commit
- The Hidden Nature of the Kingdom
- The Personal Discovery
- The Joy of the Kingdom
- The Cost of Commitment
1. The Hidden Nature of the Kingdom
Jesus likens the kingdom to a treasure that is not lying on the surface, but hidden.
This means the things of God are not always obvious to the natural eye. It takes spiritual hunger, revelation, and divine seeking to discover them. Proverbs 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”Many hear about the kingdom, but only those who truly seek God with their hearts uncover its riches.
Riches of the kingdom are not materialistic but services rendered to God’s people. Example of a great Man of God that Found Kingdom of God’s treasure in taking care of mentally challenged men, women and their children. He’s operating an orphanage home that looks after children dumped on refuse.
Dear reader, What is the kingdom treasure you found?
What Lessons can we learn from the Shunammite Woman that found riches of the kingdom in simple act of kindness?
1. Hospitality: It invites God’s presence – By opening her home to Elisha, she welcomed divine favour (Hebrews 13:2). “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”Hebrews 13:2”
2.Unseen needs, divinely met – She never asked for a child, but God saw her heart and blessed her.
3. Faith in crisis – When her son died, she did not despair but ran to the man of God. She said, “It is well” (2 Kings 4:23, 26) — a profound declaration of faith.
4. Perseverance in prayer – She clung to Elisha until he came; persistent faith sees results.
5. God preserves the faithful – Even during famine and loss, God restored her land and more.
2. The Personal Discovery
The man in the parable found the treasure himself. No one can enter the kingdom simply on another person’s conviction; it must be a personal revelation.
Dear readers, Who is Jesus? A friend, savior, a King …, “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:20
Note:- When Peter declared, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16), Jesus affirmed that this was not head knowledge, but divine revelation.
In the same way, every believer must come to a point of discovery — a revelation of the kingdom as life’s greatest treasure.
3. The Joy of the Kingdom
On finding the treasure, the man was filled with joy.
True salvation and revelation of the kingdom bring joy that surpasses all circumstances (Romans 14:17 — “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
This joy is a proof that the treasure is real and valuable. It motivates the believer to surrender other pursuits.
4. The Cost of Commitment.
The man went and sold all that he had to buy the field.
This does not mean we purchase salvation by works, but it reveals the principle of total commitment.
When the kingdom becomes our treasure, we are willing to forsake all competing values, ambitions, and worldly attachments in order to gain Christ (Philippians 3:7–8).
Half-hearted commitment cannot access the fullness of the kingdom.
5. Decision to Commit.
Finding the treasure was not enough — the man had to buy the field. Many people discover Christ intellectually, but not all make the decision to give up their old life to fully embrace Him.
The parable emphasises decision: once revelation comes, commitment must follow. Without this step, the treasure remains inaccessible.
The kingdom of heaven is the greatest treasure, but it is hidden from casual seekers. It takes revelation to recognise its value, joy to appreciate it, and commitment to surrender all and embrace it fully. This is why seeking and finding the kingdom is a deep revelation every believer needs — because only then will a person count the cost and make the decision to wholly follow Christ.

Can God rally trust you? Are sure he can
I am not judging you- but many people I have conversation with most times don’t seem to understand who God is and who they are.
When you still curse, hold bitterness, envy, unforgiving spirit, malice- again am not God but I don’t think if all these things are still present in your life would be hard for me to trust you not less God.
God will not stoop low to your level, he want you to grow up to more like His son Jesus Christ.
Repent: Acts 3:19
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
God bless you!
